Product Description

Amazon.com Review
Ridges on the bottom of this heavy cast-iron skillet make it perfect for grilling sausages, hamburgers, and steaks. Cast iron creates superior heat retention, heats evenly, and loves a campfire, unlike flimsier pans. This 11-1/4-inch pan features a cast-iron handle with a notch to allow for hanging, and two subtle side lips for pouring off grease or liquids. While the pan comes preseasoned to keep food from sticking, it works best when sprayed or lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, this virtually indestructible pan should last for generations.--Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Grill in the Kitchen   December 4, 2008
While this is not exactly grilling, we have had great success with it and it does score the meat. On the con side, cast iron requires a little more care off-duty than other materials, and ribbing makes this a little more work. In net, I'm still glad that we own this item.

5 out of 5 stars cast iron grill pan   November 26, 2008
This is a versatile piece of cookware which I use on the stovetop and in the broiler. It is much better than the traditional two piece broiler and requires no turning. It was well seasoned when I got it so cleaning is a breeze.

5 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Burger Pan   October 31, 2008
This thing is just flatout great.I bought it from Amazon in August and it's been in constant use for over two months.I haven't even tried to find a place to store and it just lives on top of my stove.
OK...I've done bacon, steaks, pork chops and burgers. They were all good.Rib steaks melt in your mouth.I'm 60 and been cooking all my life and I gotta tellya, hamburgers in these contraption are sublime.Out of this world.Yummy City.Regular flat bottom pans can leave you with alot of grease on the outside and dried up in the inside. With this pan, your burger rests on the ridges and above the grease. Then when the cooking meat begins to drip, the drippings hit the pan and turn to steam, flavoring the meat.Kinna like with a BBQ grill. You end up with a super, juicy, flavorful burger.Best ever. For 20 something bux, you gotta try it.My only gripe is the weight.I can barely pick it up with one hand.Lodge knew this and puts a little handle on the opposite side too.

4 out of 5 stars Useful product   October 21, 2008
Am quite happy with this grill. Good for a quick grill, especially for veggies and fish. though the weight and cleaning part is a bit of a hassle. Overall get the flavor of a true grill..
