4 out of 5 stars Satisfied   February 22, 2008
This product works very well for me and continues to keep my blades sharp. I noticed it worked most effectively when used with a sharpening stone.

bad buy not worth the shipping which is like 3 times the price, doesn't sharpen fully.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing value, so good, that I'm surprised I found it!   October 9, 2007

Gerber Infinity Ultra Task LED Flashlight, Black #22-80012Gerber 07564 Pro Scout Needlenose w/ Tool Kit - Mutli-Plier 600 The Gerber pocket sharpener is so good, that I'm surprised it isn't at least four or five times the price! This is a fantastic gift item, and a great addition to any toolbox. I sharpened up my Swiss Army Knife in less than two minutes without any kind of special effort. This is one of those tools that winds up being legendary for its simplicity and sturdiness. A good idea, well made.

Next time I order one, I"ll probably get a half-dozen, since the shipping ($4+) cost about twice as much as the tool ($2)! It is extremely lightweight and a convenient size for your pocket, glove compartment, tool box, backpack, tackle box, or even a survival kit. With no preparation needed to use, it is as simple as can be. There is a small lanyard hole in the handle, for easy securing against loss. As I mentioned before, it's a great idea for a small, useful gift. This just bolsters my opinion of Gerber: They make really good tools!Gerber 22-01629 LMF II Black Infantry Knife

3 out of 5 stars I still can't get a knife razor sharp.   September 24, 2007
The fact I can't get a knife as sharp as my Dad could is probably more a reflection on me than it is the product. It's convenient and it gets my knives sharper. Mission accomplished.

Buy something else to go with this product though as the shipping costs are almost as much as the item, effectively doubling the price.

5 out of 5 stars Very Professional Grade   July 7, 2007

This little sharpener is small (about 2 in. long) however, it works very well. There are instructions on the back of the package that are not hard to follow at all. I have a World War 2 German knife that was so worn down it could not cut anything. Then I bought this and it sharpened it to a professional point. I am very satisfied with both the product and the shipping time. It came in two days. I highly recomend this product.
