Great little lamp November 14, 2008 Very bright even on low - big improvement over the round-domed Coleman table lamp. Well made. I love it!
A great light back-up in time of bad weather September 23, 2008 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
After Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana three years ago, local news stations provided a list of items that families should keep handy in case of emergency situations. I found this Coleman Rugged Battery Powered Lantern (Personal Size) to be perfect for my needs. In fact, I'm thinking I need one for both ends of the house to prevent carrying back and forth.
I have not had to use it yet, but I have gone through the procedures of replacing batteries (Oh my, I need back-up packs of D-batteries--4 are needed). The length of time for the lighting is 14 hours on high and 23 hours are low. I agree with other reviewers: it is hard to see much difference between high and low. I have also practiced replacing bulbs.
All is good. I hope I don't need this Colman Lantern, but I'm ready if I do.
excellent.. September 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this after reading previous good reports and finally got to use it after a storm knocked out power for about 8 hours. I used it to read by and was glad we had bought a couple of these lanterns. We have cats so open flames is not a good idea and love having these in our emergency kit.
Great Lamp!!!! September 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great little lamp with plenty of light for reading, etc. I have a small, solar-powered camper and use this lantern instead of my camper's led lights. I use rechargeable batteries and just "top them off" in the morning. If I do forget my charger or batteries, you can find the D batteries anywhere. Many battery powered lanterns (Coleman included) have batteries that are not replaceable. So if you forget to charge your lantern, you're out of luck.
Good lantern, good price July 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Perfect amount of light for a moderately sized tent (2-5 people). Has "high" and "low" settings although I couldn't discern the two. No matter. If you're looking for good little lantern, this should be your pick.
