Great for yard work July 25, 2010 Dennis Baldwin (Bristol, CT United States) I bought this product, my first use of a hydration pack, after losing 3 weeks of yard work due to a severe charley horse. I failed to drink enough water while working on our large property during a hot summer day.
During my recovery, I researched options for carrying water on my back while working outside. The reviews for this product seemed promising. My personal experience of the first two weeks of using this product confirmed what I read.
I'm quite pleased with not only the good taste of the water but that it stays cool while I'm working under the hot summer sun.
When I can escape from yard work, I'll definitely be using it for jogging and hiking as well.
Thirsty??????? July 21, 2010 Dallas Winters (Arizona) I got this as a Christmas gift for my brother in law, he is a landscaper and is constantly out in the head and harsh conditions. He uses it everyday and loves that he doesn't have to carry around a gallon jug everywhere he goes. I would like to get one fro myself as well but find that I am not active enough to get the uses out if it. But its a cool product and a great idea. Even if you are just going to the amusement park in the summer its a great thing to have.
Rogue Camelbak July 11, 2010 Adam D. Mohling (Cedar Rapids, Iowa USA) My only complaints are that after 2 weeks of usage, the chest strap's stitching came undone and so I had to sew it. The next thing is that I wish it sat a little bit higher on my back to make the water easier to get at.
Other than that, it really doesn't bother me to take on 2+ hour runs.
Girls, watch out for the chest strap! July 6, 2010 Laura J Turner I have owned this product for about 3 months. I use it when I bike and when I run. It is good on the bike. When you run, I think your experience with this product would be based on your gender.
If you are male and can strap it directly across your chest there would be no problem, but for me, the chest strap needs to be able to go down farther to ride beneath my breasts to keep the pack from bouncing. It is still better than stashing water bottles along my 15-25 mile routes.
Additionally, if I were designing this pack, it would have a small mesh pocket on the front where I could stash my "food" for the run as I can't reach the pockets in back and have to stop to get to my stash. Good all in all, but with a couple of design tweaks it would definitely get 5 stars.
Don't Even Think of Buying Anything Else! June 27, 2010 The Extension (Utica, MI) As a mountain biker, I have previously gone through two CamelBaks (over many years). This one, the Rogue, is by far the ultimate for a few hours of trails or a race. Just enough storage for the essentials and very comfortable. And to top it all off, the price is a bargain (just don't get cute, buy the black one).
