I bought this aluminum flashlight thinking that it would be fairly heavy duty. The light flickers dim to bright with almost every movement, so there isn't a steady bright light. When it is bright it is great. Not very good quality for a Neiko.

I bought two of these flashlights for my girls to take to camp. They don't get much use. After about a year, I had to take the battery holder out and lightly sand the oxidation off of the tip in order to get it to stay lit. After the second year, the switch is also flakey. You have to turn it on/off about 3 times before it will stay lit. I'm used to whacking flashlights to get them to work, but was hoping for better. They flashlights have always been stored indoors. Time to try another brand.

this is really really good value for the money spent, the last time I spent around ten dollars on a flashlight it was one of those crappy bulb ones with the plastic switch that would corrode and break all the time. Now for the same amount of money you get this high quality metal body flashlight that is super bright! Everyone says it looks like a salt/pepper shaker lol! The housing around the leds could be a little better fit and finish but for the money I can't really complain. I have had no problems yet with the terminal connections like some of the other reviewers. Although this is nice enough that if I had a problem with the connections I would try resoldering before it gets thrown out. Silver base solder is cheaper than buying a new flashlight. It was a nice bonus to get batteries and a nylon velcro case this was a spur of the moment item and I got a lot more than I expected.

the flashlight is as advertised, super-bright, high quality on/off switch, and a perfect custom battery 'cartridge' design that I think speaks of a high level of craftsmenship. Only downer, if you have to have a negative, the chintsy type of batteries sent.
 Would be great - if it worked more than 10% of the time. Found a fix! June 1, 2010

Great idea, even a great design - but obviously poorly manufactured. The battery connections are miserable and the darned thing just doesn't work most of the time. Pretty useless if it's not dependable and you spend have the time messing with the battery cover. Didn't save the pkg, so I can't send it back... but I have put Neiko on my no buy list.
updated review - we put a 1/8" flat washer in the "head" area of the flashlight just before dropping in the battery pack. It sits in the little area where the pointy end of the battery pack goes. It makes contact all the time now where it needs to. All of ours have worked just fine since we did this.
