Amazon.com Product Description A highly versatile flashlight, the Galaxy 12-LED Flashlight from Smith & Wesson features eight white, two red, and two blue LEDs. The ultra bright white LEDs offer general lighting and visibility within 20 feet, the red LEDs provide night vision, and the blue LEDs are ideal for low-light viewing. This flashlight features the latest Multiple Switch Advanced Technology system (MSAT), which allows the white LEDs to operate on one switch while the red and blue modes are activated on a separate switch. This allows you to never second guess which mode you are turning on so you will never lose your natural night vision. The Galaxy includes three AAA batteries and a holster. The limited lifetime warranty guarantees the quality and reliability you have come to expect from Smith & Wesson since 1852. What's in the Box? A Great Flashlight September 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very anal when it comes to flashlights. I've had this light for a little over a year now, and this little guy is a real monster. This is the best flashlight that I've ever owned, and that's saying A LOT. It has handled being covered in mud, submerged in water, and I even ran over with my truck once. It's still going strong. The white LED's are very bright, and the red comes in handy for inspections at work. I haven't used the blue a whole lot, but it's still nice to have. To anyone looking for a solid, great light, this is the one to buy. I am going to buy the galaxy 28 very soon.
It is a flashlight May 29, 2008 Worked fine, I'm no expert. The power went out and it came in handy. Not sure if the red and blue made a difference but it helped pass time.
Not bad, don't regret buying this flashlight May 20, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm one of those people who buy flashlights at the drug store or in my last case, the Discovery store.
This flashlight has good weight but all the reviews you've been reading about how the colored lights are designed are true.
If that stuff bothers you then this is not the flashlight for you.
But if you want a flashlight to provide light in the dark and happens to have some pretty good feeling buttons this might be a good idea.
Terrible! April 30, 2008 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was really looking forward to loving this product after purchasing two of them at a recent Amazon Friday sale. Unfortunately, this product just doesn't live up to expectations. 8 white LEDs apparently is NOT enough to produce a useful torch at 20 feet (I checked it in the woods with a measuring tape). Even worse, while the idea of a night-vision proof flashlight is great for us stargazers, this flashlight doesn't provide that. In order to turn the red (night vision) LEDs off, one must toggle through the blue lamp phase. The blue wavelength degrades night vision, making this flashlight useless for those of us looking to use this product for stargazing.
Great flashlight January 18, 2008 Nice light. Well made and feels comfortable in your hand. The white light is bright for an LED and the switch for the red and blue is seperate so you don't have to cycle through. Great light for the price.
