absolutly the best January 8, 2009 Gotta say hands down this is probably the most loved flashlight i have ever had. it shines super bright but illumination isnt the real reason anyone would or should buy this. its an excellent security tool. in all states this should be legal as it is classified as an illumination device untill used otherwise. and its excellent when used as other purposes
the only con i have is that the endcap is not metal, i dunno why when the rest of the flashlight is superstrong aluminum and the endcap is some sort of plastic im guessing. its not so much a bad thing as just an annoyance. i havent had it break nor expect it to but i would of really liked that part to be metal as well.
Best Maglite i have ever had October 24, 2008 I have had several maglites in the past and this one is by far the best. its size makes it heavy for some. its the brightest one i have owned. i am thinking of getting a second one just becasue i like it so much. i advise to anyoen that camps and hikes to get thsi one or a smaller one.
Great service! July 29, 2008 This was shipped promptly and arrived within the order guidelines. It was for a friend to bring to his brother who is working a security detail overseas.
Best Blackout illumination ever! July 21, 2008 Experience coping with blackouts led me to experiment with lots of battery lights -- fluorescent, LED, and conventional incandescent bulbs. This 6 D-cell light provided the largest area AND brightest illumination.
Here's how I used it: I set it vertically so its beam bounced off white ceilings. I also used some handy household objects as a base holder to keep it from tipping. In the kitchen it provided enough light (while aimed at the white ceiling) to prepare a simple meal using the gas stove -- and for washing dishes afterward.
Later, in a 20' x 30' living room, it provided enough light bounced off the ceiling so that everyone could sit, talk, eat dinner, and see everyone else in the room. That was comforting & reassuring! Finally, in the bathroom & bedroom, this very bright light, aimed at the white ceiling, provided enough illumination for showering and brushing teeth as well as allowing two persons to move around a bedroom without bumping, stumbling, or stubbing toes.
Maglite: Still Reliable June 12, 2008 Ordered the 6 cell for my work, and it is the only thing around that can be still used as a flashlight & defensive baton in one nice package, I still see Maglites as Still Reliable, put in a Terralux LED and its ready for the next century.
