This is great for power outages. It is small, little taller than a 20 oz coke bottle, and it puts out enough light for a small room to help navigate around during storms. This is a perfect little lamp "in addition to" more lamps ....
You don't really want this as your only source of light. The light is harsh (LED's) but it is pretty bright. Great for the bathroom, or a table, or room to navigate , etc, etc

First of all when the product works. It is adequate. Produces a soft glow that is enough to function by at night.I bought this here on amazon received it via two day shipping and had batteries in it the next day. That night I went on a hike, short, easy no dropping no duress. Within 20 minutes the light stopped turning on. I popped out the batteries put them back in. Nothing. I unscrewed the bulb it appeared fine too. However the product itself did not work. It's a cheap buy so give it a shot if you feel like it. Personally I don't recommend it, I didn't even feel it was worth it to try for a replacement.
