Product Description
A recipe for folding knife success: Start with hard-use rated lock. Add a blade made of exotic high carbon steel. Manufacture it in Golden, Colorado using precise tolerances then add a healthy dash of American innovation. These ingredients are the Manix2, a concoction of solo features when combined make one of the strongest Knives from Spyderco to date. Patented by Spyderco, the Manix2 has a Ball Bearing Lock. It?s a hardened free-floating ball bearing contained in a custom hi-tech polymer cage. The round ball bearing allows the lock to self adjust across a large surface, smoothly and consistently locking-up with solid confidence. Evolving over time, the Ball Bearing Lock?s strength withstands hard work with a secure, versatile and comfortable grip. Ergonomics are peerless in this design. The blade is 154CM and hollow-ground with aggressive thumb serrations (jimping) above a super sized 14mm Spyderco Round Hole. The Jimping doesn?t stop there. With full steel liners the scales have jimping that extends beyond the G-10 handle scales scalloping areas of the handle?s perimeter. This one is not slipping out of your hand and works well with gloves on! The liners pull double purpose by adding rigidly and lightweight strength to the handle. A three-screw clip is left/right-hand carry, positioned for comfort and deep pocket carry. The knife also has a large lanyard pipe to protect various types of cords or thongs. | Customer Reviews: Manix 2 July 3, 2010 B. Wondergem (Fla.) I bought this knife as a replacement for a Case that I carried on my belt for over 25 years. I wanted something solid and built to last. The only reason I didn't buy another Case was I wanted something different. Spyderco hit a home run with the Manix 2! A very Solid well built knife. Good blade steel,Grip, and size. Lock up is very solid and secure. It is a little heavy for a pocket knife So I went in search of a belt sheath and a Buck 10pt omni folder sheath just works. It fits in the sheath one way only -tip down, blade forward-. A nice tight fit. You will need to remove the pocket clip for the sheath tho.
Hope this helps B
Great Knife May 12, 2010 Thomas Smotherman (Florida,USA) The Spyderco Manix 2 is one tank of a knife from the handle to the blade and lets not forget the wonderful locking system. I also own the Spyderco Para military which is a very great knife also, but since buying the Manix 2 I rarely carry the Para military now. I say buy this knife the price is great for a American made knife plus the Spyderco Warranty which can't be beat also great steel 154 CM and the feel of the knife fits wonderful in hand.
Great Blade April 24, 2010 Jennifer Hilliard (Fremont, CA, US) Love this knife... Had my last Spyderco for over 10 years and it was my every-day-carry knife. The old knife was the stainless police-plain blade model. The stainless knife would slip through my grip when wet and unlock the blade when I grip it to hard because the locking mechanism is on the top of the handle. It's a wonder I didn't purchase a different knife sooner. This new knife resolves all the issues I had with the old because it has a much better grip, folding and locking action. It's a little on the bulky side but I think it's great none the less.
Amazing Knife -- Amazing Price April 6, 2010 Bigfoot (Oregon, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the Manix 2 after reading a few online reviews and cruising YouTube. I was in need of a new folder, and this one seemed to fit the bill. I've had other knives, including Spyderco and Benchmade. Right out of the box I was impressed! No blade play, black G-10 scales, solid locking system, built like a tank, and looks great with the plain edge. It is a bit on the large size for EDC (every day carry), both in dimensions and weight, but for those who wear jeans or cargo pants you will have no problems. Honestly, this is far more knife than I expected for the money, and made right here in the U.S.A. Order one, you won't be disappointed!
Fabulous Knife April 3, 2010 Paul Scott 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this knife about four weeks ago and while I'm not a "knife man" per se, I am impressed with its build quality and would recommend it to anyone that's looking for a well-crafted EDC pocketknife that's built in the U.S.A. It looks good, feels good and quite likely is the best knife out there in its class for the money.
