SLIDE PORBLEM October 31, 2008 WE HAVE TWO OF THIS PRODUCT IN OUR CAMP FOR WINTER USE . AFTER ONE YEAR THE FLUSH SLIDE BECOMES VERY HARD TO USE . IT STICKS . I CALLED THE FACTORY , YOU GET VOICE MAIL THAT SAYS THEY WILL RETURN THE CALL AT THERE CONVIENCE . 60 DAYS LATER AND STILL NO RETURN CALL .
Wonderful! October 12, 2008 We bought the Visa 268 Deluxe Portable Toilet to replace the toilet on our 1972 25' Cal sailboat. The original toilet was in fine working order but did not have a holding tank; it dumped directly into the river (which is, of course, no longer legal.)
The Visa 268 fit nicely into the the old "head" space and works like a dream. We are thrilled with the ease of use and the lack of odors (important since the "head" is next to our sleeping area. Plus there's no more "pumping and dumping"; instead we simply dump the holding tank into the yacht club toilets when necessary.
I would recommend the Visa 268 Deluxe Portable Toilet to anyone with a boat, RV or tent. When we used to tent-camp, how nice it would have been to have our own portable toilet, rather than walking to the ones at the campground!
We give the Visa 268 Deluxe Portable Toilet five stars!
Convenient AND sanitary! September 29, 2008 We ordered this product because we live in a remote region of Texas in a comfortable but small house, and have LOTS of company from the city. So while we're able to make room for sleeping pretty easily, the "extra" rooms don't have bathroom facilities easily available. This portable toilet is exactly what we needed. It is truly convenient AND sanitary and worth the little extra money that it costs over other models. Plus shipping was free!
Not worth it August 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this to be used for a camping trip with my 4 and 10 year old so I would not have to leave one in teh tent while I went with the other to the comfort station. I haveto say thsi unit is much larger than I thought it would be. It held all of us with a problem. It worked fine but then it began to leak around the hand pump. I don't think it is worth the price of it. If I coudl do it all over again, I would not have purchased it.
Good potty, but a couple of issues... July 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for a cabin that has no septic system. Comfortable, works perfectly - order extra Liquid Gold deodorizer, a 4 oz. sample comes with it. All-in-all a luxury camp potty! My only problems are:
The 5 1/2 gallon holding tank is way too heavy for me to deal with by myself. Bummer. OK, so I should have found out how much that would weigh, but it didn't occur to me. I don't recall that any of the brands talking about this, but they should. (Hey, not every porta-potty empty-er is a man! Some women have to do things for themselves, to paraphrase Annie Lennox!)
And, I read somewhere (maybe here) when researching this brand/model that two people can use it for a week before emptying. No, no, no...ONE person can use it for a week... So much for my every-two-week plan!
