Strong and Comfortable September 10, 2010

My son loves this backpack! One thing he likes the most is the shoulder straps. He always carries his school books home so his backpack is so heavy. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and do not hurt his shoulder at all. The mesh pocked in one of the shoulder strap is also a good idea. He can easily put his pen/pencil there and grab them easily when need it. This is his best backpack so far!

This backpack is nice looking and durable . I was lucky not to order it from here in such high price but was able to find it in Ross, Marshal stores for nearly half the price. but for sure not high selection there for the colors.

I've had many of backpacks in my day. For 15 yrs I've been lugging around some kind of backpack and this is THE best so far! I put it on loaded down with books and what not and it feels like I have nothing on my back at all. Rugged as a Jeep! I'm not super careful with my backpacks and this one still looks new after 2 years! I'm getting ready to buy another High Sierra backpack for strictly work. I would recommend this pack to anybody! You simply CANNOT beat it for the price!

I've had numerous backpacks over the years, and this one is the best one I've ever owned. Yes, it's large. Yes, there are tons of pockets and organization. The previous reviews have listed them in detail.... what I'd like to emphasize is the extreme comfort! A couple of days ago, I ran abt a quarter of a mile in the rain with this bag, a 13" macbook (b/c there are adjustable straps on the inside of the compartment to make the bag fit the laptop instead of the other way around! Serious SCORE!), a notebook/binder, 2 super heavy college text books and various small items. Not only was I able to run, I was able to do so comfortably! It cinches down easily. The padding on the back ROCKS! The lumbar portion makes it fit easily to the contour of your back, and the suspension straps give when they need to without pulling on your shoulders and neck. The only thing I didn't love is the waist strap, but it tucks away easily behind the lumbar padding; honestly, I don't even remember it's there anymore. This bag has taken a beating over the past year, and it still looks beautiful! I'd like another colour, but I can't really justify the expense b/c this one is going to last a loooooooong time.

Purchased this pack last week as I was looking for an all purpose pack. The pack has multiple compartments which works well when carrying books or binders. Front pocket has segregated areas which allows for storing small items such as pens, calculator energy bars etc....
Pocket above is larger / deeper and has room enough for light clothing or two books. There are two additional larger compartments separated by a nylon barrier. The compartments are deep but not wide. The back compartment does have a place for a laptop w/ a secure nylon / plastic snap clip. The compartments are fine for storing books, binders, laptop, but not much more. There is a small pocket on top of the pack for loose change, cell phone etc... The pack appears well constructed and is comfortable to wear. The padding on the back and straps is certainly adequate. There are water bottle pockets are both sides that work well.
Unfortunately the pack does not supply enough room if you are using it for storing multiple items of clothing or perhaps gym equipment (perfect push ups / rolling wheel). This pack is really designed for the student. If you moderately fill the first two smaller compartments, it really restricts the amount of space for the larger compartments.
I ordered the Navy and Gray which is a very nice color combo. I purchased this pack from Amazon and was pleased w/ the quick delivery.
Would suggest that High Sierra use Velcro as a fastening aid to secure inside small pockets.
